Brook Brass to give free pop-up performance in church grounds as music @ stansted concert series returns
Having had to suspend its concert series since March 2020, music @ stansted hosted a free outdoor concert to whet people’s appetites for the return of live music to the village.
Professional trumpeter David Clewlow, who recently moved to the area, and his colleagues from the Brook Brass ensemble will perform in the gardens of St John’s Church in Stansted on Sunday September 5th at 4pm.
Brook Brass, based in east London, gives solo concerts as well as collaborations with choirs, such as the Nine Lessons and Carols service at their home church in Wanstead and traditional carols from the community of Walthamstow Town Square.
The group’s repertoire ranges from the catchy brass tones of Gabrieli to the pop classics of the 1980s, to Mozart, Henry Mancini and Hungarian folk songs, all introduced by the musicians themselves – truly something for everything. the world !
For the outdoor concert on September 5th, everyone is invited to grab chairs or rugs and sit back and enjoy an hour of live music with friends and family in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere.
Admission is free, but donations to musicians are welcome. The concert will only take place if time permits.
A club spokesperson said: “music @ stansted is looking forward to finally welcoming music lovers to Stansted.”
