Escalation of the conflict: the Hungarian minister demands an apology from Ryanair!

Márton Nagy, Hungarian Minister for Economic Development, demands an apology from the low-cost airline Ryanair.

Nagy told MTI that the practices that “Europe’s most profit-hungry airline” indulges in are “unfair and mean-spirited.”

He said the expectations of the Hungarian government are unchanged: everyone must follow the rules, everyone must behave responsibly and fairly and, most importantly, no one must pass on exceptional taxes to consumers.

He noted that a consumer protection investigation related to unfair ticket pricing practices is ongoing.

“If anyone should apologize, it’s Ryanair. Apologies are online for Hungarian families to whom the airline wanted to pass on a tax of the kind it pays without complaint in other countries Europeans,” Nagy said.

He added that thanks are due to all companies that have taken on the responsibility of helping to manage the economic situation created by the war and recognize that “the safety of families is more important than a few euros of extra profit”.

“Of course we understand that provocation is Ryanair’s real aim,

because bad publicity is still publicity. The government considers this exchange to be closed; he will not participate in loudmouth altercations, ”he added.
