The figures

Despite the economic slowdown caused by the coronavirus epidemic, the level of development of Hungarian regions has increased, according to recently published Eurostat data for 2020, writes the business daily Világgazdaság.

Based on regional GDP ranking measured in purchasing power parity, Budapest, Northern Great Plain and Northern Hungary were two percentage points closer and Southern Transdanubia and Southern Great Plain one point percentage closer to the EU average.

Only the development of Western Transdanubia has declined.
